Board meetings and strategic plans from Greg Hancock's organization
The meeting included public hearings regarding proposed increases to water and wastewater utility rates, both of which resulted in the approval of corresponding resolutions adopting the new rates. The Council also approved three other resolutions: one authorizing the submission of a grant application to the Arizona State Parks and Trails RTP-Recreational Trails Non-Motorized Program, a second for the Heritage Fund Local, Regional and State Program (LRSP), and a third for the approval of funding application and acceptance of awards related to an ADOT grant. Furthermore, Resolution 2026-05 concerning the process for identifying and appointing persons to serve on the Board of Adjustment was tabled. An ordinance amending Title 10 regarding Buildings and Construction was approved. After the City Council meeting concluded, the body convened as the Board of Adjustment to consider a variance request (V25-04 for Allsups), which was approved with several conditions, including size restrictions for a proposed sign. Finally, the Council approved the 2026-2027 Strategic Plan.
The meeting included an annual gas liaison presentation. The council approved the expenditure of grant funds for rescue equipment for the Willcox Fire Department, acceptance of grant funding for a new K-9 patrol unit, and submission of a grant application to the U.S. Economic Development Administration. They also considered and approved a vendor quote for a lighting system, a consultant quote for a workforce housing concentual master plan, and the purchase of a thermoplastic Hanliner marking machine and a compact excavator. Cathodic protection repairs at Keiller Park were approved. The council discussed and directed staff to amend fence requirements and driveway standards in the RR-1 zoning district. The City Manager's report was presented, and the meeting adjourned.
