Leduc County Council Regular Council Meeting
The council addressed several items, including the authorization of recreation cost-share agreements and payments with the Town of Calmar and the City of Beaumont. Sponsorships and grants were reviewed, with an annual grant approved for Special Olympics Leduc athletes and a sponsorship for the Alberta Zirka Ukrainian Performers Association, while a request from the Rotary Club of Nisku/Leduc was denied. A public hearing was held regarding the removal of a Municipal Reserve designation, and Bylaw 17-25 to adopt the Municipal Development Plan was passed through all three readings. Additionally, the council proclaimed Rail Safety Week, approved a fire services cost recovery policy, updated policies regarding encroachments on county property, and authorized funding for rail crossing rehabilitation. A decision regarding an appointment to the Arrow Utilities Commission was deferred until the organizational meeting.
