The Obion County School System's mission is to provide a safe learning environment that fosters academic success, promotes good character, and prepares students for future challenges, thereby contributing to the community. Its goals include ensuring all students reach their full potential, staffing with highly qualified personnel, maintaining safe and well-equipped learning environments, fostering parental, business, and community involvement, and promoting the development of responsible citizens.

The meeting agenda includes recognitions for Building Level Teacher of the Year, RISE program participants, and systemwide achievements. The board will review monthly reports covering personnel, substitute teachers, and financial business. The agenda includes an evaluation and contract review for the Director of Schools. The board will address several administrative items, such as the appointment of a member to the Athletic Advisory Committee and the formal opening of the Obion County Virtual Academy. Additional business items involve the declaration of surplus assets, including a school bus and a vehicle, the approval of overnight trips, and multiple contract actions, such as school bus bids, lease renewals for staff devices, and multi-year service contracts for filtering and monitoring software.
