The committee discussed the year 26 budget tax living item, hotel and motel policy, and county employee insurance stipends. They explored guidelines for hotel motel tax revenue distribution, the need for county community involvement, and family gatherings. They also touched on the Effingham County Fair, Milroad Thresherman, and human service organizations. The committee also discussed the postevent or post project reports documenting the use of the funds and actual impact.

The committee discussed and recommended to the full board the distribution of funds to the Effingham Regional Growth Alliance and the Ham City Fall Fest. There was discussion regarding the FY26 Hotel/Motel Budget, including setting guidelines for application and determining the budgeted amount. Additionally, the committee discussed the FY26 County Employee Health Insurance Stipend, considering an increase to the one-time contribution for the Health Savings Plan Preferred. The committee convened in a closed session to discuss collective negotiating matters.
