Board meetings and strategic plans from George Mumblow's organization
The Town Board of the Town of Bolton has adopted the Bolton Town budget, and sewer and water budgets, for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2026. Said adopted budget is available for inspection by all interested parties in the office of the Town Clerk at the Bolton Town Hall.
The Bolton Town Board meeting addressed several key areas. It included a public hearing and subsequent adoption of the 2026 Town Budget, as well as discussions and resolutions pertaining to the 2026 Water and Sewer District budgets and rate schedules. The board also addressed a septic variance request, designated a lead agency under SEQRA, and made determinations regarding SEQRA and LWRP. Additionally, the board approved a contract for stormwater engineering work at Rogers Park, authorized agreements for grant applications for the Bolton Museum, and approved the use of Veterans Park for triathlon races. They also discussed and approved resolutions related to financial matters, infrastructure remediation, and support for a pro-housing community permitting system.
The meeting primarily focused on SPR 25-31, a proposal by Stewart's Shops Corporation for a Type II Site Plan Review concerning an addition to their existing commercial property. The proposed addition involves expanding the shed roof storage area and enclosing storage space under the existing shed roof. Approvals were secured from the ZBA. The board discussed the specifics of the extension, including its dimensions and materials. The Planning Board declared itself as the lead agency for SPR25-31, accepted the application as complete, waived a public hearing, and granted final approval for the project, citing no negative environmental impacts.
The Bolton Zoning Board of Appeals meeting included discussions and decisions on several variance requests. Greg Francis sought an area variance for a new residence, which was tabled for review of the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP). The VanDyck Living Trust's variance request for a non-conforming structure was also tabled for more detailed plans. Thistle Dew Too LLC requested a variance for additions to a non-conforming dwelling, which was tabled for additional information. Coolidge Hill South LLC's variance for additions to a non-conforming dwelling was approved. Barbara Kincaid's variance for additions to a non-conforming dwelling was approved as well. Stewart's Shops Corporation's variance for additions to a non-conforming structure was also approved.
The Bolton Town Board held a regular meeting to discuss several key items. A public hearing was held for a sound amplification permit. Additionally, a public hearing was held regarding a variance request for a septic system. The board also discussed municipal finance programs, website compliance, and a shelter inspection report. New business included a resolution to ratify an agreement with Warren County for local tourism promotion, awarding a contract for the Rogers Park Stormwater Mitigation Planning Project, authorizing the Water Department and Highway Department to declare certain items as surplus, and authorizing the Supervisor to enter a contract for veterinary services.
