The event was the "IV Jornada Antirracista Celestina Cordero Molina." Discussions included welcoming attendees, thanking collaborators like Professor Virm Sus Martínez Toro and Mr. Gabriel Quiñones, and a presentation on the origin and dedication of the day by Dr. Rosario Méndez Panedas. The event featured recognized leaders in the anti-racist struggle, Yolanda Aryo Pizarro and historian Pablo Luis Rivera. A significant part of the event focused on the importance of knowing ancestral names and history, highlighted by a personal story about discovering corrected baptismal records, which ties into the concept of the sancova bird representing looking to the past to determine the future. The event also celebrated the decade-long work of the Chair of Ancestral Black Women and the upcoming publication of a dedicated anthology. Furthermore, the session included an art contest recognizing winners in third, second, and first place, and a reflection on how creativity, particularly through the arts, provides an escape from oppression.
