City Council of Valparaiso Meeting Minutes
The City Council conducted a swearing-in ceremony for the Mayor's Youth Council and received a presentation on the City's Safety Action Plan. The Council adopted a fiscal plan and held a first reading for the annexation of property known as the Riverton Annexation. Zoning amendments related to the Riverton development were also introduced. Additionally, the Council approved updates to the floodplain management ordinance to maintain compliance with the National Flood Insurance Program and authorized an appropriation from the Lane Mile Direct Distribution Fund for a crack seal program. A temporary moratorium on new data center development was established. The Council also discussed an ordinance regarding contractor fraud prevention, received various liaison reports, and addressed public comments concerning the Human Relations Council, open burning regulations, and school district concerns.
