The board discussed a special exception application (Case Z26-8 SE) regarding the operation of a small-scale senior care facility at 1060 Beamguard Road, proposing a residential setting for up to five seniors. The hearing included presentations from the applicant and staff, followed by public comments. Residents expressed diverging views, with some supporting the facility's mission, while opposing neighbors raised significant concerns regarding the commercialization of agricultural and residential land, potential traffic increases, and the establishment of a precedent that could undermine local zoning protections.
