The Teacher Growth Initiative for Slocum ISD aims to reward and retain effective teachers, particularly in high-needs areas, by participating in the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA). The plan focuses on improving STAAR scores, maintaining a highly qualified teaching staff, and providing quality professional development opportunities. It includes a detailed local designation system with multiple categories based on teacher groups and utilizes both teacher observations and student growth measures to evaluate performance. The initiative also outlines spending plans, eligibility criteria, and strategies for recruiting and retaining effective teachers, as well as ensuring equitable distribution of designated teachers across different grade levels and subjects.

The Board recognized the 5th Six Weeks Gates Award Winners. They approved the engagement of Axley & Rode, LLP as auditor and amending the Anderson County Special Education Coop Shared Service Arrangement Agreement. The Board received information on accounts payable, student accomplishments, current enrollment and attendance, school events/calendar, the Superintendent's Report, and changes to funding. They also discussed the Graduation Ceremony and received a report on the hiring of personnel.

The Board of Trustees took several actions, including approving stipends for 2025-2026 and changes to Policy DEC(LOCAL). They also approved Board and Superintendent Performance Goals. The Board received information on accounts payable, student accomplishments, current enrollment and attendance, school events/calendar, the Superintendent's Report, student travel, board training, and the release of accountability ratings. Additionally, they hired a teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.
