The council addressed inquiries regarding the permitting process for communication towers, including the role of independent third-party reviews and the implications of FCC shot clocks on town approval timelines. Furthermore, the meeting clarified the regulatory status of the Sand Castle project, specifically emphasizing that recent discussions about permitting delays were based on existing state and local requirements for coastal land disturbance rather than the introduction of new ordinances.

Board Of Zoning Appeals Bza Meeting
The Board of Zoning Appeals discussed a variance request for the reduction of the required side setback to allow for the expansion and connection of existing residential decking at a property. The discussion focused on the property's unique pie-shaped configuration and existing home siting as justification for the variance, ensuring that the improvements meet accessibility and safety needs while remaining consistent with the zoning district's character. Staff recommended approval, subject to conditions including an as-built survey and a landscape plan for enhanced screening.
