The board also received results from a pay system review and an update on strategic plan priorities. Action items included the authorization of refunding bonds, updates to property tax collection contracts, approval of a new health and wellness curriculum, and the adoption of a resolution regarding a good cause exception for armed security officers.
The board meeting included extensive recognitions for staff and students, ranging from teacher incentive allotments and Tiger awards to academic honors, robotics team state qualifications, and athletic accomplishments. The Board administered oaths of office to trustees and handled routine financial items including bank signatory changes. Key action items included the approval of new contractual personnel, a purchase exceeding $50,000 for the IReady toolbox, and the selection of a construction delivery method for playground resurfacing. Additionally, the Board conducted a reorganization, electing new officers, received reports from the School Health Advisory Committee, and reviewed a strategic plan update.
The Board of Trustees held a meeting to address a Level III parent complaint. The meeting involved consultations with legal counsel in closed session, a formal hearing in open session, and deliberation.
