Wheaton College Baccalaureate Service
The document pertains to the Wheaton College Baccalaureate Service. Key discussions included reflections from senior leaders, Jerusalem Cheney and Judah Giller, on the intersection of faith and learning, encouraging graduates to 'do what the word says' rather than merely listen, referencing James 1:22-25. One speaker emphasized the importance of living out Christian liberal education through tangible actions and pursuing generous hospitality as a lifelong commitment, drawing lessons from the Parable of the Prodigal Son regarding God's welcome. Another speaker discussed the doctrine of divine Simplicity and the difference between knowing about God and knowing God personally, encouraging graduates to embrace the freedom found in God's law as they transition into post-graduate life, jobs, or further education, warning against self-enslavement.
