Davidson College Strategic Priorities and Proposals

Davidson College's strategic priorities and proposals aim to enhance its role as a top liberal arts college by focusing on six key areas: enhancing academic resources and curriculum; reinforcing student support; building a comprehensive advising and learning-for-life program; deepening work in institutional history, education, reconciliation, and justice; building curricular and co-curricular work in ethical leadership and public good; and strengthening relationships with the Town of Davidson and the Charlotte region. The plan includes proposals to improve curriculum flexibility, support faculty and student scholarship, maintain need-blind admission, expand financial aid, enhance advising, create a learning-for-life program, guarantee high-impact experiences for all students, develop Beaver Dam plantation as a site for historical study, expand engagement with descendants of enslaved people, establish an Institute for Public Good, and strengthen regional partnerships. The overall goal is to educate students for lives of leadership and service in a dynamic world.
