Lexington Public Schools Improvement Plan
This improvement plan, developed for Lexington Public Schools by New Solutions K12, aims to enhance services and outcomes for students with disabilities while also supporting staff. Key strategic areas include implementing consistent, evidence-based reading instruction and targeted interventions at the elementary level, establishing best practice interventions for secondary students, and increasing general education teacher capacity through expanded instructional coaching. The plan also focuses on objective identification criteria for academic support, redesigning severe needs special education programs for narrower student needs, fostering lifelong independence for students with significant disabilities, and optimizing specialized staff reach through careful management of student group sizes. The goal is to achieve equitable academic outcomes and a sustainable, supportive environment for all students and staff.
