The commission reviewed several planning and zoning applications. Additionally, the commission tabled several applications due to the absence of the applicants.

The board considered two main agenda items. The first involved a variance request for a side yard setback to construct a detached garage and workshop, which was approved. The second item concerned a special exception use request to retain a manufactured home on a property; this request was denied, and the board granted a 120-day period for the removal of the structure. Additionally, the board received information regarding upcoming updates to the Comprehensive Plan and Unified Development Code.

The commission reviewed and approved several conditional use applications, including the construction of an eight-foot fence for a residential subdivision, the sale of alcohol at a pool hall, and the sale of alcohol at a restaurant and a grocery store. Additionally, the commission approved a request for a public hearing regarding a zoning amendment application to reclassify a tract of land from residential agriculture to limited business.

The council adopted several ordinances including emergency funding for street and drainage repairs on Golden Meadows Boulevard, additional funding for the Benton Road street repairs project, and amendments to the Code of Ordinances regarding the management and use of the former City Hall facility. A motion to rezone property on Benton Road for a chiropractic office was defeated. Additionally, the council introduced ordinances regarding FEMA flood mitigation assistance, the widening of Shed Road, code of ordinance revisions, and a new annexation. A resolution was adopted to amend membership and appointment procedures for standing committees to ensure full council participation.

The City Council meeting addressed several legislative and administrative items. Key actions included approving the donation of police radio equipment to the Webster Parish Fire Protection District 8 and authorizing a cooperative endeavor agreement with Red River FC for field usage. The Council established an Infrastructure Capital Fund designated for future infrastructure needs and amended financial policies to increase the General Fund balance reserve requirement. Additionally, the Council authorized the issuance of Public Improvement Sales Tax Refunding Bonds to achieve debt service savings, processed various zoning amendments, and reviewed monthly financial and engineering project reports. The session also featured the introduction of ordinances related to emergency street repairs and facility usage codes.
