Smucpm Strategic Plan 2024-2027
The 2024-2027 strategic plan for SMUCPM focuses on five strategic themes: student success, higher enrollment, program excellence, program identity, and culture & infrastructure. Nine targets aim to improve outcomes, including achieving a 90% first-time pass rate on the APMLE Part I exam, increasing matriculant yield by 10% annually, expanding applicant pipelines, developing a faculty/college practice clinic and a center for biomechanics and sports medicine excellence, strengthening the clinical sciences curriculum, and enhancing SMUCPM's social media presence. Progress includes integrating the SMU Motion Analysis Research Center, decompressing the second-year curriculum, finalizing an articulation agreement with a local university, and engaging alumni in applicant outreach.

The event was the Sigma Theta Tau Nu Xi Fall 2023 Inductions ceremony. Key discussion topics focused on welcoming the inductees, highlighting the significance of their accomplishment, reviewing the mission and vision of Sigma (to develop nurse leaders anywhere to improve healthcare everywhere), and introducing chapter leaders and guest speakers. A presentation outlined the organization's strategic goals, history (founded in 1922), values (love, courage, and honor), and the symbolism of the crest. The benefits of Sigma membership were detailed, including educational opportunities, publications, networking, and access to funding/grants. A key address encouraged new members to 'Be Bold, Be Brave,' emphasizing the need to use their foundational knowledge from Samuel Merritt University College of Nursing to bridge the gap between theory and practice, engage with interprofessional teams, and stay actively involved by looking at evidence and publishing findings.
