The Board held a public hearing regarding a special exception permit application for a proposed agritourism project, which included plans to construct short-term residential cottages and common space buildings at 2407 Union Chapel Road. Proponents highlighted the potential for increased tourism, tax revenue, and economic development, while opponents expressed concerns regarding the preservation of the area's rural and agricultural character, potential traffic issues, and conflicts with normal farming operations.
The commission reviewed and voted on zoning ordinance amendments, specifically addressing building height regulations for residential and planned unit development districts, setback requirements for accessory structures, updated criteria for special event permits, and regulations concerning outdoor storage of equipment.
