This action facilitates the sale of land adjacent to the property to the City of Faribault by clearing the title, while maintaining all original repayment obligations for the remaining portion. Furthermore, the board discussed future plans to form a Community Work Group to contribute ideas to the Downtown Master Plan.

The council addressed various consent agenda items, including property donations, equipment purchases, grant agreements, and license approvals. Key discussion topics included COVID-19 vaccination efforts and relief aid for local governments, elections, the extension of state tax credits for historic structures, funding for greater Minnesota infrastructure, jurisdictional realignment studies, local government aid, licensure for ASL interpreters, local sales tax requirements, and street impact fees.

The City Council discussed a request regarding City compensation for damaged mailboxes and the reopening of the library microfilm room to the public. Additionally, the Council accepted bids for the 2nd Avenue bridge replacement project over Division Street and received updates on the Monthly Financial Report and administrative changes to the work session committee name.
