The Local Control and Accountability Plan for Centralia Elementary School District serves as a comprehensive framework to enhance student learning, engagement, and overall well-being. It focuses on three key areas: ensuring optimal conditions for learning through qualified teachers, appropriate materials, and safe environments; improving pupil outcomes by fostering academic growth and proficiency for all students, especially English Learners and other identified subgroups; and strengthening engagement by promoting meaningful opportunities for parents, staff, and the wider community within a supportive and inspirational setting. The plan emphasizes data-driven instruction, targeted interventions for high-needs students, professional development, and robust family and community partnerships to achieve college and career readiness for all students.

The Board meeting included various business, educational, and human resources items. Key actions included the approval of multiple agreements for transportation services, professional auction services, software licensing, and legal services. The Board also accepted numerous gifts to the District, ratified various financial reports, and approved a resolution regarding committed fund balance. Additionally, the Board addressed the adoption of school plans for student achievement, ratified a memorandum of understanding with the California School Employees Association, and authorized notices of completion for several construction projects. Finally, Board members requested approval for participation in professional conferences and proposed a change to the July board meeting schedule.

The board met to discuss and deliberate on the vacancy created by the resignation of a trustee in Trustee Area 4. The primary agenda item focused on determining the method for filling the vacant seat, with options including calling an election or making a provisional appointment as specified by the Education Code.
