The Board of Commissioners meeting included a public comment period with no input received. The board discussed the 2020 Millage and the Ruth Canal Tree Removal Project. A discussion was held regarding the planting of crops on the District's conveyance channel permanent right-of-way, with a decision made to allow baling of hay but not plowing or disturbance of the soil surface. The board entered into Executive Session to discuss legal issues concerning the Hartford lawsuit and then moved to call a Special Meeting on June 29, 2020, to further discuss the Hartford lawsuit.
The meeting included updates on the Loreauville Canal Navigable Control Structure Maintenance Project, masonry restoration, waterproofing, and remedial work at the Pump Station. The board discussed and approved proposals and payments related to cleaning and painting site elements at the Pump Station, electrical repairs and modernization of Pump #5, and emergency call-out invoices for electrical repairs.
