The committee approved the dental insurance renewal rates for the upcoming year. Furthermore, the members reviewed the agenda for the scheduled Regular Board Meeting and approved the inclusion of memorial resolutions for a retired teacher, a retired teacher, and a retired principal.

The meeting involved the presentation and review of academic performance reports and school action plans for various high and middle schools, including Central Lafourche High, Thibodaux High, South Lafourche High, Golden Meadow Middle, and Larose-Cut Off Middle. Updates were provided by directors and supervisors regarding elementary and secondary education initiatives, accountability, special education, federal programs, turnaround schools, and student welfare and attendance.

The committee reviewed and approved several business items, including renewal quotes for building, contents, and drone-non-ownership liability insurance. Key project actions included the acceptance of a bid for HVAC replacement at the Bayou Community Academy related to the Thibodaux Middle School project, the approval of license renewals for networking equipment, the purchase of a next-generation bundled firewall, and the approval of a contract for the migration of the on-premise Exchange email system to Microsoft 365. Additionally, the committee reviewed the Superintendent's quarterly report and the agenda for an upcoming regular board meeting.

The committee received a monthly report from B & L Transportation, Inc., which detailed vehicle repair activity and preventative maintenance completed for the school bus fleet. Additionally, the committee discussed the ongoing process of altering bus routes for the upcoming school year, procedures for bus operator inspections and road tests, and updates following a recent transportation advisory committee meeting concerning bus route assignment policies.

The committee reviewed and approved revisions to several organizational policies. The agenda included updates to alcohol and drug testing for general employees, general leaves of absence, and sick leave protocols. Furthermore, the committee approved modifications to the Medical Leave Assistance Program, as well as policies concerning student assignments and school admission requirements.
