Clayton County City Council Special Called Meeting
The meeting focused on conducting a public hearing regarding the proposed 2026 net maintenance and operations millage rate. The presentation clarified that while the proposed rate reflects an increase over the rollback rate due to raised assessed property values and inflationary adjustments, the net millage rate has remained unchanged for the fourth consecutive year. The discussion also addressed the city's need to keep up with rising costs, such as employee raises and health insurance premiums, in order to maintain current budgetary limits.
