The commission held a discussion regarding the salary and benefits of an existing employee. Additionally, the commission reviewed an applicant for the role of Campton Mountain manager and discussed the development of a job description for a Recreation Business Manager, including consideration of a potential candidate. The session concluded with a motion to return to public session.
The meeting included public hearings to discuss accepting and expending funds from the Waterville Estates Association for ski area insurance and to set water rates for the second 2026 billing cycle. The board reviewed the Treasurer's report and general manager's report, which covered ongoing infrastructure projects including road grading and deck construction, as well as upcoming recreation center events. Committee reports were provided by the Planning Board, Water & Roads Committee, Budget Advisory Committee, Records & Retention Committee, and Capital Improvement Program Committee. Additional business items included discussions on trees, the employee handbook, and community communication strategies.
The committee reviewed feedback from a previous town hall meeting and explored options for residential metering and leak detection. Staff provided updates regarding the second storage tank, wells, pump house re-plumbing, the road plan, and the status of the Verdantas contract. Additionally, the committee reviewed its mission statement and appointed a new chair.
The committee discussed its primary focus, clarifying that it should concentrate on department assets, including personal property exceeding $10,000 in value and real property systems with projects exceeding the same threshold. It was determined that future road paving discussions will be integrated with the recently completed Roads Master Plan. Additionally, the committee evaluated a list of buildings and grounds assets, assigning estimated replacement costs and life expectancies to each item for documentation in a worksheet.
