The commission reviewed the M-85 (Fort Street) Railroad Crossing Improvement Study, with continued focus on the development of a crosswalk and bike path. Additionally, the commission addressed business regarding the Speedway Gas Station on S. Van Horn and the Sheetz Gas Station north of Van Horn. Members also planned to invite Wayne County representatives to discuss issues related to Grange and King.

The council addressed several items, including the appointment of a new member to the historical commission, the approval of a 33rd district court annual financial report, and the authorization of a social district permit for Roundhouse Barbecue. Additionally, the meeting covered a wholesale water service contract amendment with the Great Lakes Water Authority, the renewal of a cooperative library services agreement, and police department matters involving software renewals and equipment upfitting for a traffic vehicle. The meeting also included the approval of disbursements and addressed concerns regarding regional power outages and their impact on residents and the hospital.

The board reviewed the 3rd quarter investment report, confirming compliance with investment policies and Michigan PA 314. Key actions included the decision to withdraw funds from Vanguard Developed International and S&P 500 accounts to hold as cash. Additionally, the board received the investor statement and the Section 149 Health Care Timeline for filing, and discussed the potential for exploring a Unified Managed Account in the future.

The commission discussed the development of the Ambassador Program, focusing on creating informational materials, applications, and a syllabus to engage 15-20 residents, with the goal of launching the program in the fall. Planning for the Martin Luther King, Jr. 2027 observance highlighted strategies to increase student leadership and participation through school-based events. Regarding Monguagon Memorial Park, discussions centered on the design and content of a commemorative plaque with QR code integration, and potential outreach to community experts to gather historical information. Additionally, information regarding the Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution reading event was shared.
