The Commission met to discuss new business including the certification of the police lateral hiring list and succession planning for the Police and Fire Departments. The discussion included projected retirement timelines for key personnel and the associated scheduling of promotional and entry examinations. Additionally, the Commission reviewed the status of collective bargaining contracts and addressed old business items, such as the creation of rules for fire department lateral hires, seniority calculation methodology, and a review of Civil Service rules within the city charter and ordinances.

The coalition discussed updates regarding a name change, the status of a street card graphic package, and a report on the Maltz Museum's bias awareness program. Other topics included a preliminary food truck proposal, community engagement efforts with Colors+, updates on city events and tent purchases, the city newsletter schedule, and pedestrian access improvements for Lorain Road.
