The Chattooga County Board of Education announced that the millage rate will be set at a meeting. The notice includes the current year's tax digest and levy, along with a five-year history.

The Chattooga County School System's Professional Learning Plan and Evaluation focuses on improving student achievement and school effectiveness through professional development for teachers, administrators, and staff. Key priorities include student achievement, continuous improvement, stakeholder involvement, and efficient operational procedures. The plan emphasizes data-driven decision-making, enhanced instructional strategies, and the integrated use of technology to support teaching and learning, all aligned with Teacher Assessment on Performance Standards (TAPS) and Leader Assessment on Performance Standards (LAPS).

The meeting included discussions and decisions on various personnel changes, including certified and classified resignations and recommendations. The board reviewed and approved the FY'26 Budget and the Financial Statement for May 31, 2025. They also approved several handbooks related to student enrollment, professional learning, gifted programs, and student/parent guidelines. The board approved participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2025-2026 school year. Additionally, the agenda was amended to include consideration of an extension of the Superintendent's contract.

The meeting included the adoption of the superintendent's recommended agenda. The board opened the floor for public input concerning the tentative annual operating budget for FY'26, but there was no public input. There were no resolutions, recognitions, school board member discussions, school board policies, educational programs, student support, staff development, support services, facilities, construction management, planning, executive session, personnel matters, or superintendent of school discussions.

The board approved financial statements, budget amendments, and moving a CD to Georgia Power Federal Credit Union. They also approved tribunal panel members, school nutrition procurement plan, wellness policy, and parent & family engagement policy. Additionally, the board discussed the summer feeding program and a request for GaDOE assistance in developing a new five-year local facilities plan. There was also a discussion regarding a possible lighting upgrade at Mitchell Field and athletic events attendance procedures.
