Forum
The meeting, titled Accreditation Forum, provided an update on the accreditation process status following a site visit. The main discussion concerned an unexpectedly shortened timeline for the next report submission to ACCJC, moving the deadline to March 2027, which requires focusing on courses taught in the fall. Key achievements highlighted were receiving a commendation for an exemplary culture and use of data in driving decisions to promote equity and student learning, alongside addressing one expected compliance recommendation concerning Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) in distance education courses. Discussions detailed the requirements for RSI, efforts to train faculty, class size reductions for online courses (from a maximum of 64 down to 45), and the results of a pilot review of 21 courses using a newly developed rubric. Next steps involve reviewing all distance education courses offered in the spring semester.
