The board meeting focused on the appointment of an interim school board representative for the Riverheads District. Two candidates were put forward for the position, but both motions failed due to tied votes. Following the failed appointments, the board discussed the option of petitioning the circuit court to make an appointment; however, no motion was made to do so. It was determined that the seat would remain vacant until the upcoming election in November.
