The proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2026 includes revenues from taxes, regulatory fees, intergovernmental revenue, charges for services, fines and forfeitures, and miscellaneous sources. Total proposed revenues are $9,380,761, with additional funding from prior years' fund balance and other financing sources, bringing the total to $10,329,445. Expenditures cover various departments and services, including Commissioners/Contingency/Ins., Elections, Legal Services, Tax Commissioner, Tax Assessors, and others, balancing with the total proposed revenues.

A tour of the projects in the Whitewater Park area and a discussion on transportation funding will be held.

The Macon County Board of Commissioners scheduled a meeting with the cities to discuss SPLOST.

Discussions included a review of the minutes from March 31, 2021, a session with the County Manager, and a discussion with Dexter McKenzie from the Macon County Boys & Girls Club regarding their summer camp. A discussion on a driveway pipe issue on Garden Valley Road was also scheduled.

The worksession agenda included discussions on proposals for a fire station on Winchester Road, fire services, road issues, a vacant/foreclosed real property registration ordinance, handling trash in yards, addressing dog barking noise, businesses operating without licenses, and tiny houses. Updates were also provided on a trail grant for a whitewater park and a variance for Flora Lane. Public comment was scheduled.
