The Draft Moraga Canyon Specific Plan for the City of Piedmont outlines a vision and framework for the Moraga Canyon area. Developed in response to the city's state-mandated housing element goal to accommodate 587 new housing units by 2031, the plan aims to facilitate the addition of up to 199 new housing units, including 60 affordable units. Key priorities include improving recreational amenities, enhancing bicycle, pedestrian, and traffic safety, and implementing wildfire safety measures, while maintaining existing city facilities. The plan serves as a blueprint with guidelines for land use, site design, infrastructure, and fire safety to achieve a new neighborhood characterized by safer streets, enhanced recreation, and improved public spaces.

The City Council meeting included a closed session to negotiate the price and terms of a lease for a portion of 120 Vista Avenue with New Cingular Wireless PCS, LLC.
