The Council discussed recent grant funding received for library accessibility and emergency radio equipment, and acknowledged collaborative training exercises held with the local Fire Department. A minor variance application was granted for the construction of a grain weight scale. The Council also heard presentations regarding land use compatibility concerns for an industrial property and received an annual update from the County on strategic initiatives and shared services. Furthermore, the Council reviewed a report regarding winter maintenance operations and addressed various items of correspondence.

The council meeting addressed various municipal matters, including a presentation on a new private multigenerational home facility and an update on the provincial conservation authority consolidation. Key approvals included support for Bill 21, Protect Our Food Act, 2025; policies regarding public notice and transparency; and the allocation of proceeds from municipal land sales. Additionally, council awarded the tender for the Lucan Easement Trunk Sanitary Sewer Replacement and reviewed departmental activity reports, including fire services, recreation, and economic development updates.

The board discussed the potential purchase of a new fire truck to avoid anticipated price increases in 2027. Confirmation was provided that there are no plans to close the Granton Station. The need for Perth South to address agreements regarding fire inspection and public education services was highlighted. Additionally, the board received financial reports, including accounts payable and YTD budget status, and approved officer appointments for the fire department leadership roles.

The committee discussed several operational topics including the upcoming stage-to-storage conversion and the potential for a portable stage at the Community Centre. The canteen occupancy was opened to a new Request for Proposal process. The meeting included an update on the transition to online program registration via Xplor Recreation and ongoing summer student recruitment. Additional business involved progress on the design for an additional ice pad and the implementation of temporary washroom solutions at the Soccer Complex.

The council meeting included a public hearing regarding proposed zoning by-law amendments linked to Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF2) initiatives. The council received departmental activity updates for economic development, emergency services, and parks and recreation. Key actions included the formal adoption of the 2025 Asset Management Plan and the activation of various programs under the Community Improvement Plan. The council also endorsed multiple external resolutions concerning school bus safety, parole and sentencing reform, and the impact of Bill C-15 on libraries.
