Regional District of Kootenay Boundary Board of Directors Board Meeting Highlights
The Board of Directors authorized the borrowing of funds for the purchase of three wildland fire engines and adopted the Area A Zoning Amendment Bylaw, which restricts land use for data warehouses and centers. The Board denied a funding proposal from Imagine Kootenay for an economic development initiative but approved a letter of support for the Phoenix Foundation's community data project. The Board also approved numerous Grants-in-Aid for various community projects, entered into a 10-year operating agreement for the Christina Lake Welcome Centre, and supported a liquor license application for the Big White Market Deli. Furthermore, the Board adopted a policy regarding single-egress stairwells and advanced a heritage designation amendment bylaw for the Alpine Inn Shed.
