The Mount Pleasant Central School District's 2025-2026 District-Wide Safety & Emergency Management Plan focuses on preventing and managing emergencies to minimize the effects of serious incidents. It includes strategies for risk reduction, violence prevention, and intervention, as well as detailed response protocols for various emergency situations. The plan also addresses communication, recovery, and the coordination of district resources and manpower during emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff.

The meeting covered appointments of the District Clerk, Deputy District Clerk, and oaths of office for elected board members. The President and Vice President of the Board of Education were elected. A consent agenda was approved, encompassing various resolutions related to financial matters, including the designation of the school district treasurer, depository of district funds, purchasing agent, official newspaper, and bonding of school officials. Appointments were made for legal counsel, claims auditor, and the establishment of meeting procedures. The annual budget vote and school board election date were set. Approvals were given for professional development opportunities, petty cash funds, advanced payment of claims, budgetary transfers, advanced hiring, impartial hearing officers, civil rights compliance officers, special education committees, a surrogate parent, Section 504 compliance officer and committees, a district liaison for students in homeless situations, a district designee, mileage rate, signatures on school district checks, and various other appointments and authorizations.

The 2023-2024 Instructional Priorities for Mount Pleasant Central School District focus on operationalizing the 2022-2027 Strategic Plan. Key areas include developing high levels of proficiency in all learners, creating a culture of care and wellness, providing staff professional learning opportunities, designing authentic assessments, preparing for a Tri-State visit on grading and assessment, building data inquiry capacity, enacting K-12 Core Competencies, identifying instructional links within the curriculum, establishing feedback loops, implementing professional development models, implementing safety and security audit recommendations, enacting a 3-Year Safety and Security Implementation Plan, developing a fiscally responsible budget, planning for an instructional bond, completing the 2022 athletic field bond project, and completing existing capital projects. The overall goal is to educate each student for endless possibilities.

The 2022-2027 Strategic Plan focuses on three main goals. Goal One: The Instructional Program, aims to develop high levels of proficiency in all learners through an academically aligned curriculum, foster a culture of care and wellness, provide staff with professional learning opportunities, develop K-12 progression of skills, implement a cohesive K-12 literacy program, implement the K-12 MTSS plan, and develop comprehensive K-12 instructional STEAM strands. Goal Two: Safety and Security, focuses on evaluating and implementing recommendations from a safety and security audit, evaluating security personnel and staffing, and developing a 3-year safety and security implementation plan. Goal Three: The Physical Plant and District Finances, centers on developing a fiscally responsible budget, completing a building conditions survey, implementing a field bond, completing capital projects, and developing a 5-year capital improvement plan.
