Board meetings and strategic plans from Dan Bucher's organization
The meeting included a roll call and a motion to excuse Sue Mayberry. The council adjourned to an executive session and then returned to the regular session. A motion was made and approved to hire Matthew Bubp.
The agenda includes a call to order, pledge of allegiance, roll call, and a work session. Citizens have an opportunity to comment on agenda matters. The council will correct and adopt the record of proceedings and hear reports from administrative officers, including those from Senior Citizens, Community Service, Fire Chief, Police Chief, Engineer, Streets, Public Utilities, Planning/Zoning/HPC, Finance Director, City Manager regarding accepting the Northstar winning bid, Mayor, Economic Dev. Director, Parks Director, and Law Director. Discussions will cover topics such as amending the zoning code, changes to authorized appropriations for property and casualty insurance, personnel and operations, purchasing an enclosed trailer, and final acceptance of Lakewood Estates Phase II. The council will also consider approving the sale of real property, preparing and submitting applications to participate in the Ohio Public Works Commission State Capital Improvement and/or Local Transportation Programs, amending rates of pay for non-bargaining employees, and further changes to authorized appropriations for the West Side Water Tower and transfers from the General Fund to the General Obligation Debt Fund and to the Fire/EMS fund. Additionally, the agenda includes reviewing purchase orders for electric services, water tower engineering, brick pavers and concrete, an E-ONE TYPHOON aerial, and new water tower construction, as well as reviewing bills and addressing old, new, and other business.
The board discussed a variance request for the construction of a chain link fenced-in exercise area by Fulton Animal Hospital. Concerns were raised regarding the height of the fence and potential visibility issues, but it was noted that the fence would not inhibit views. The board also discussed the criteria for granting variances, changes to zoning ordinances, and the importance of verifying compliance with granted variances. Additionally, there was a discussion about a previous zoning request that had not been acted upon and an inquiry regarding an alley dedication.
