Institutional Biosafety Committee Meeting Minutes
The committee reviewed reports on incidents and accidents from Employee Health Services, including both past and recent BSL-3 laboratory exposures and animal-related incidents. Eleven research protocols were discussed, covering studies on RNA structure, CAR T-cell therapy for systemic lupus erythematosus, metabolic disease, stress response signaling pathways, T cell activation, innate immune responses, translational control, immune responses to pathogens and cancers, and protein/antibody generation. Most protocols were approved pending completion of specified action items regarding experimental methodology and biosafety clarifications. Additionally, the meeting addressed BSL-3 and ABSL-3 facility status and safety design plans.
