This 5-Year Strategic Plan for Wilson County Schools is a roadmap to provide every child with a high-quality education, building strong character, confidence, and readiness for college, career, and life. The plan outlines key strategic pillars including student learning and achievement, safe and supportive school environments, teacher and staff recruitment, development and retention, facilities, operations and technology, family and community partnerships, and financial sustainability and efficiency. The overarching vision is to be a top-performing district, inspiring students to reach their full potential in safe, supportive, and future-ready learning environments.

The meeting included discussion of tornado damage to Stoner Creek Elementary and West Wilson Middle schools, updates from the board attorney and insurance company, and the process of getting approval for bidding. The board also discussed FEMA reimbursement and the process for submitting necessary documents. The meeting also addressed the decision to return K-5 students to full-time traditional learning and 6-12 to remain on hybrid, and the metrics used to make these decisions. Finally, the meeting included an update on vaccinations.

Key end-of-year stats for the class of 2022 were presented, including the number of graduates, associate's degrees earned, scholarship money awarded, and Tennessee Scholars recognized.
