The Miami Trace Local Schools' strategic plan is dedicated to providing quality education by cultivating opportunities and relationships to foster student success and growth. Key priorities include expanding career pathways through student internships and community partnerships, adapting to future student enrollment and community changes through long-term planning, and ensuring financial stability by responsibly managing property taxes, state funding, and voter-approved fixed sum levies. The plan aims to equip students with essential knowledge and skills, preparing them for future opportunities, and maintaining robust educational programs and services.

The strategic plan for the Southern Ohio Educational Service Center Business Advisory Council focuses on coordinating efforts between schools, businesses, and communities to build a stronger workforce. Key initiatives include assessing workforce needs, building partnerships, and connecting students to experiential learning. The plan aims to develop professional skills for future careers, address talent pipeline challenges, and provide community members with the skills necessary to succeed in the workforce, while providing employers with a continually growing employment pool of viable candidates.

The strategic plan focuses on capital asset planning, district operations, academics and growth, and career development. Key areas of focus include developing a capital asset plan, building a dedicated team, fostering transparent communications, meeting the needs of all students through MTSS and wrap-around services, and creating a district-wide career program. The plan aims to equip students with skills, connections, and experiences for lifelong learning and excellence.

The Miami Trace Local School District plans to use approximately $1,385,000 in student wellness and success funds (FY20-FY23) to create a Community Learning and Wellness Center. This center will serve students in the alternative school, credit flex program, and those with social/emotional challenges. The plan involves collaboration with Integrated Services of Behavior Health (ISBH) and Pickaway Area Recovery Services (PARS) to offer mental health counseling, health and wellness services, career counseling, family counseling, and mentoring. The district will monitor the center's impact on student outcomes, such as out-of-school suspension rates and discipline incidents, and adjust the plan annually based on performance evaluations.

The board meeting covered various topics, including personnel matters such as approving new hires, resignations, and supplemental contracts for coaches and staff. Numerous field trips were approved for students of different grade levels. The board also addressed several agreements and contracts, including those related to transportation, broadband services, technology, and facility use. Financial reports were reviewed and approved, and a change fund was established for student council dances. Administrative reports included updates on the wellness center, a "Grow Your Own" program, and the strategic plan. The board also discussed and approved a salary schedule revision.
