The meeting included discussions and decisions regarding the approval of board to board transfers for Braley Hall and Romahd Boone from SNSD to El Dorado School District. The board also went into an executive session. Decisions were made to hire Justin Burns as the SNSD Band Director, and to hire Deborah Sims, Ariana Toups, Mary McKnight, Deborah Hernandez, Dana Phillips, and Josh Younts as hourly summer help for janitorial services, with plans for them to transition to full-time positions for the 2025-2026 school year.

The communication and engagement plan for Smackover Norphlet School District focuses on enhancing communication and engagement between the district and its stakeholders, including students, parents, staff, and the community. The plan prioritizes fostering a transparent, collaborative, and informed environment to support student success and strengthen community trust. It aims to involve parents and the community in promoting higher student achievement, developing meaningful partnerships, and providing accessible information through various channels and formats.

The 2025-2026 School Improvement Action Plan focuses on enhancing teaching, learning, and student success through effective implementation of High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM). Key areas include curriculum alignment, differentiated instruction, data-driven assessments, transparent communication, and health & wellness initiatives. The plan aims to ensure rigorous, standards-aligned, and culturally responsive learning experiences, foster critical thinking and collaboration, and promote the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of all students and staff.

The board meeting included approvals for the Milk and Juice bid from Sysco and the Bread bid from Sysco. They also discussed and approved several personnel actions, including hiring a PE/Health Teacher and Assistant Softball Coach, an Elementary Computer Lab Position, an Elementary Principal, a NMS Paraprofessional position, and a High School Family Consumer Science teacher. The board accepted resignations, approved board to board transfers, renewed bus driver contracts, and approved moving nurses from a 185 day contract to a 180 day contract.

The board meeting included approvals for a server technology quote from SHI, a 20% Resolution Carryover, an HVAC Unit bid from Glenn Mechanical for SNSD Preschool, the 2025-2026 ArApp Workbook Template, and a bid from Restore It to redo floors in campus buildings. The board then went into an executive session, after which they approved the hiring of Amy Fulco as SES Assistant Principal, Kandace Blackledge as SHS Math Teacher, Shane Day as SHS Biology teacher, and Jessica Harris as SES Paraprofessional.
