A second jumbotron screen has been ordered for the gym, and the next purchase will be a new sound system. There was also discussion about a pilot program for high school participation and a Machine Tool Technology Summer Bridge program. The equipment for entry/building access control is installed, and a recommendation on scheduling hours for building access will be developed. The replacement of the HVAC system for the Norton Social Sciences Building is about 50 percent complete.

Old business discussions included the status of the Bevill Renovation (no update) and an enrollment update, noting that Spring 2026 credit hours and headcount are trending ahead, with Summer and Fall registration timelines established. There was also a facilities update review. Regarding Parson BooksPlus, the Cabinet discussed a discrepancy meeting with Barnes and Noble representatives and agreed to move forward with the price increase as applied by Barnes and Noble, with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in development to standardize pricing across community colleges by 2027. New business covered the success of the Parson Partners workshop, feedback received from local school career coaches regarding moving College Day back to a day event, discussions regarding dual enrollment with Geraldine High School, a potential compliance audit for Snead State, and the scheduled dates for the Barber Motorsports event, for which free tickets and parking passes are available.

This Strategic Plan outlines Snead State Community College's direction from 2019 to 2021, focusing on meeting educational needs through degree and certificate programs, workforce development, and community engagement. Key goals include increasing student completions in career and technical programs, integrating work-based learning, maximizing performance-based funding metrics, enhancing dual enrollment, and completing an enterprise management system migration. The plan aims to achieve a well-skilled workforce, service integration through partnerships, student success, and innovative service delivery.

Discussions covered several items carried over from previous sessions, including the Bevill Renovation, an Enrollment Update, and a Facilities Update where the bid for the Music Building roof postponement was noted, as was the scheduling of the next design coordination meeting for the Aviation expansion. In new business, the strategic planning process for updating the 2022-2027 plan was discussed, leading to a recommendation to include a percentage of each strategy status as a benchmark in the final report. The Cabinet reviewed strategic achievements and areas for improvement. In open discussion, the Cabinet reviewed and agreed with the criteria provided for awarding scholarships. Additionally, information was shared regarding collaboration with Albertville City Schools concerning the alignment of a dual enrollment class with an AP class.

The meeting addressed several old business items, including the status of the Bevill Renovation, where the winning bidder agreed to hold the price, and an enrollment update showing a 4.16 percent increase in head count following the 'Drop for No Show.' During open discussion, data on dual enrollment student yields was reviewed, the annual audit report with no findings was noted, and the Cabinet unanimously approved a motion to offer waivers for two dual enrollment classes for the summer and fall terms.
