The Board of Education meeting included a presentation on middle school MSTEP scores and the school's strategies to support students and teachers. There was discussion regarding Jonathan Gherardi's Eagle Project, the MASB Grassroots Advocacy Program, school board work sessions, and fundraising requests. The yearly bullying report data was shared. The Finance committee discussed ordering recycling services and reviewed monthly bills. The DK Education Foundation's gala will be April 18th at the Gilmore Car Museum. There was an update on preparation for improving parking lots and traffic flow, updating bathrooms, re-roofing the middle school roof and installing new sound systems. The board also discussed consideration of bids for insurance and approved a resolution in support of participation in the Reading Now Network and District Emergency Plans.

The Board of Education meeting included an education presentation on an Eagle Scout project and AP test scores. Good job notes were shared for various staff members. Reports were presented on Early Middle College programs, staff retirements and resignations, school board work sessions, and fundraising requests. The Finance Committee discussed filling audio/video roles and purchasing a reading program. Donations to the robotics teams and bond updates were shared. The superintendent's evaluation goals for the next year were discussed. Action items included a School of Choice Resolution, a band trip to Tennessee, and the hiring of coaching and high school secretary positions. The board discussed conducting a self-assessment.

The Delton Kellogg Board of Education meeting included discussions and updates from literacy coaches regarding their conference and services, updates from the Elementary, Middle, and High School principals, and recognition of the transportation department. The Finance Committee met to discuss February bills, custodial contracts, boiler issues, and loading dock repairs. The Facilities Committee reported on construction progress. The Delton Kellogg Education Foundation will host a Spring Gala fundraiser. Personnel appointments and reassignments were approved. The board approved roofing and paving project bids and discussed policies on animals on district property. Individuals spoke about spring sports, bargaining, the school calendar, transparency, freshman orientation, and athletic coach hiring practices. The next monthly meeting was announced.

The Board of Education meeting included updates on end-of-the-year events at the high school and safety protocols. There was a coronavirus update, discussion of summer school for DKES and DKMS, a review of NWEA scores, and discussion of the 2021-2022 Master Calendar. The board reviewed policies on District Email Storage and Fingerprints, acknowledged the retirement of Kindergarten teachers, and received an update on the DK Education Foundation. Reports were presented on the Finance Committee, Legislative updates, Bond, and Superintendent activities. Action items included approving coaching positions, hiring a paraprofessional, creating a Bass Club, approving bids for Audio/Video classroom equipment, pre-approving teacher workstations, approving Michigan Class as a repository of bond funds, and approving a spending plan for the Food Service Excess Fund Balance.

The meeting included an education presentation on Early Literacy Interventions at DK Elementary. Discussions covered a COVID update, including a letter to the Barry-Eaton District Health Department regarding a potential mask mandate, and peanut allergy protocols in DKES. The board addressed resignations of staff members and committee reports on finance, bond, and superintendent matters. Action items included approving the hire of multiple teachers and paraprofessionals, approving a course for class credit, and addressing a leave request. The board also went into closed session to discuss property matters. Public comments included concerns about mask mandates, dress code policy enforcement, and nut-free school issues.
