The joint meeting of the MTA board and various committees (Bridges and Tunnels, New York City Transit, Joint Railroad, Capital Program, Safety, and Finance) was called to order following postponements due to a blizzard. Public speakers raised several critical operational and policy issues. Key topics included ongoing problems with the digitized bus radio system, including outages and lack of vendor data sharing, and the release of buses with mechanical defects, such as brake issues. Another major concern was the MTA's pilot program for audio advertisements on subway platforms and trains, which speakers argued degrades the passenger experience and hinders communication. Other discussion points involved the need for DOT and Sanitation to clear snow from bus stops, support for extending the Second Avenue subway to 125th Street for accessibility, the financial impact of high auto insurance costs driven by litigation and fraud, and concerns over the contract award to Kawasaki Rail Park due to lack of transparency and history of delays. There were also calls for better service levels on several bus routes, implementation of Apple Pay and Wi-Fi on LIRR, and consideration for on-demand accessoride service.

The strategic plan outlines the mission of New Fairfield Senior Services and the New Fairfield Senior Center to provide opportunities for enrichment and interaction for senior adults, promoting wellbeing and health. Key goals include engaging seniors in the life of the center and wider community, reaching out to diverse populations, countering ageism, maintaining a safe facility, providing comprehensive information on community and regional services, assisting caregivers, and empowering seniors facing loss and adversity.

The 2019 Greater Danbury Community Health Needs Assessment and Improvement Plan focuses on four priority areas: chronic disease and obesity prevention, mental health and substance abuse, healthy aging, and access to health promotion information and services. The plan uses quantitative and qualitative data to identify key health concerns and disparities across the region. Strategies include strengthening community partnerships, expanding access to preventive services and screenings, promoting healthy lifestyles, and addressing social determinants of health. The plan aims to improve health outcomes, reduce disparities, and enhance the overall well-being of the Greater Danbury community.
