The strategic plan of Bethany College focuses on educating, developing, and challenging individuals to pursue truth and excellence, leading lives of faith, learning, and service. It emphasizes personal attention, active learning, and preparing students for impactful careers. The plan is grounded in core values such as integrity, hospitality, community, servant leadership, sustainability, and excellence. It aims for inspired learning and informed faith, promoting student success and community transformation, while also fostering inclusiveness and diversity within the college community.

The Bethany Board meeting addressed President Mauch's departure and her new appointment. Discussions included reviewing board policy regarding executive searches, outlining the composition of the search committee, and appointing an interim president by December 31, 2023. The meeting also covered an action plan through December 31, 2023, focusing on empowering current employees to continue their work on enrollment, retention, and program development. Budget projections for the next 3-5 years, including presidential search funding, were also discussed. The board identified qualities for an interim president and planned to solicit input from the campus community. A committee was tasked with identifying and interviewing search firms. Finally, a campus visit by the board chair and vice chair was scheduled for December 6 and 7.
