Strategy Towards China
This document outlines China Team A's proposed strategy for American foreign policy, advocating for de-escalation and peaceful coexistence with China. The strategy focuses on three key areas: a military approach that maintains strategic ambiguity regarding Taiwan and avoids escalating tensions in the South China Sea, regional relations that leverage existing alliances (AUKUS, Quad) without further expansion, and economic and political measures aimed at normalizing trade relations and fostering cooperation on global issues. The core premise is that China is a declining power primarily focused on internal stability, and therefore, a less aggressive U.S. stance can prevent conflict and facilitate collaboration on shared challenges like climate change and nuclear non-proliferation.
