The Windham School District Generative AI Use Plan, approved on September 16, 2025, outlines procedures for the review, approval, and use of Generative AI tools and resources within the district. The plan also addresses the dissemination of information to stakeholders, integration into the district's acceptable use policies, and the incorporation of stakeholder input through an AI Task Force.

The Windham School Board meeting included presentations on the Extended School Year (ESY) program, a Sports Injury Action Plan, and WSD Academic Standards. The board discussed facilities updates and addressed public comments. They reviewed and approved manifests, nominations, budget transfers, and minutes from a special meeting. Action items included approving the Sports Injury Action Plan, the FY26 Administrative Organizational Chart, the Revised Teacher Performance & Evaluation System, WSD Academic Standards, the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), FY25 Encumbrances, FY26 Sole Source Vendors, and various policies. The board also accepted donations and discussed future meeting dates.

The school board meeting addressed several key issues. A discussion took place regarding the setup and procedures for the upcoming deliberative session, including the use of a hybrid in-person/virtual format to ensure public access while maintaining social distancing. The board also considered and approved the cancellation of a seventh-grade field trip due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns. A significant portion of the meeting focused on a proposal to explore a full in-person return for 12th-grade students, contingent upon receiving sufficient data from a parent survey to ensure safe class sizes. The survey was scheduled to be sent out on Wednesday, with a deadline of February 10th, and a response from the district by February 17th.
