The occasion was a chapel service where members of the Board of Trustees were welcomed, as they had been meeting all morning. Announcements included an invitation to an ice cream social and a pingpong challenge with the chaplain that evening, as well as details for student trick-or-treating and the annual jazz band concert on Friday. Furthermore, November was promoted as Global Bible Month, encouraging the campus community to participate in a 30-day Bible reading plan providing an overview of the entire Bible. The main speaker, Professor Noah Cromer, introduced his message by referencing a challenging scripture from Psalm 145 regarding praising God and then previewed the sermon topic, which focused on the zealous response of Phineas in Numbers chapter 25 to blasphemous sin.

The session commenced with reflections on the previous Monday's energy and the introduction of the new student chaplain, Kai, who offered support to the student body. An announcement followed regarding the rescheduling of the student-led Ministry group, Reach, due to the Martin Luther King weekend. The main segment featured Reverend Michaela Wickham as the speaker for the Legacy Series, who led a prayer and introduced the theme of legacy and the Gospel's power as the firm foundation. A discussion followed regarding the societal pressure to be the 'greatest of all time' (GOAT) in various fields, contrasting this striving with the message of grace found in the Gospel. The speaker referenced Mark chapter 10, verses 35 onward, detailing how disciples James and John sought positions of greatness, illustrating the misconception that impact requires being the greatest.
