The meeting featured presentations designating June as LGBTQIA+ Pride Month and May as National Stroke Awareness Month. The council addressed ordinances regarding sign maintenance standards and the organization of the police department. Financial actions included authorizing the preparation of estimated tax bills and approving the 2026 Crestwood Lake salary supplement. Other resolutions involved supporting the Allendale Woman's Club 'Turn The Towns Teal' campaign, permitting the display of rainbow ribbons in recognition of Pride Month, and approving a comprehensive list of bills. Additionally, the council promoted three police officers, including one promotion to the rank of Lieutenant and two promotions to the rank of Sergeant.
The Mayor and Council discussed various municipal matters, including the proclamation of Mental Health Awareness Month, the second reading and adoption of a capital ordinance for public improvements, and the introduction of an ordinance regarding downtown signage standards. The council also authorized a grant application for open space acquisition concerning the Turner House, adopted the municipal budget, and approved a consent agenda that included personnel appointments, vehicle purchases for the police department, and environmental service contracts for lead paint testing. Additionally, council reports were presented covering public safety, traffic updates, water and sewer utility issues, and community projects.
