This document is the 2025 accessibility progress report for Aéroports de Calgary, detailing advancements made towards becoming an inclusive and barrier-free airport. It covers the period from June 2024 to June 2025, in line with an overarching accessibility plan spanning June 2023 to June 2026. Key areas of focus for progress include Information and Communication Technologies (TIC), non-TIC communication, procurement, program and service design, transportation, the built environment, and employment, all aimed at eliminating barriers and enhancing the overall passenger experience at YYC.

The meeting included a review of airport operations and statistics, noting an increase in passenger traffic since the onset of COVID-19, with busy periods reaching 55-60% of 2019 levels. Key business discussions covered passenger statistics and aircraft noise profiles, specifically addressing community concerns regarding increased use of runway 29-11. The committee also discussed the Crosswind Runway Fact Sheet, outlining efforts to minimize community impact during future construction planned for 2022. Updates were provided on Helicopter Airwatch for Community Safety (HAWCS) operations, including statistics and considerations for noise mitigation. Furthermore, NAV Canada detailed the consultation phases planned for the 17L/R Jet Turn Trial, scheduled to run between December 2021 and May 2022, and solicited input on survey questions. Member Q&A addressed temporary changes to terminal walk distances due to traffic management and construction.

This document provides an update on the YYC Calgary International Airport Master Plan, which establishes a long-term framework for the airport's orderly development, guided by a 20-year planning horizon and aligning with the airport's strategic plan. The update focuses on air traffic forecasts, airfield system, air terminal complex, and ground transportation, incorporating a sustainability strategy.

The meeting agenda included a welcome, an update on YYC, progress on the West Runway Update, discussion of a Jet Turn Trial, deferral of Acoustic Monitoring, the Sustainability Strategy, and a Round Table session. Key discussion points covered holiday safety hazards, airport operations including winter readiness and runway clearing capabilities, travel tips for the busy holiday season (December 16 to January 3), and planning for the West Runway Rehabilitation Project, which aims to ensure safe operations for the next 40 years and support economic growth. The NAV CANADA Alternate Departure Heading Trial consultation results were reviewed, leading to a decision to discontinue the use of these headings between midnight and 6 a.m. local time, while allowing permanent use during other hours due to benefits in noise distribution and GHG emission reduction.

The presentation provided updates to the Community Consultative Committee on several key areas. The discussions included a detailed update on the West Runway Rehabilitation project, covering completed phases such as relocation of service roads, completion of the North blast pad and RESA, and partial completion of electrical infrastructure rehabilitation. Safety metrics for construction, including zero lost-time injuries and zero work-related incidents requiring medical aid, were reviewed. The current status for Winter 2024/2025 construction, which will have no operational impacts, was outlined. The 2025 construction scope includes completing the rehabilitation of Runway 17R/35L pavement structures and upgrading the electrical system to CAT II. Updates were also provided on YYC Operations, NAV Canada's Winter Operations, and Aviation Noise and Operational trends relative to runway usage before and during construction phases. Finally, an overview of YYC's economic impact and Air Cargo Operations was presented.
