The Pike County Multi-jurisdictional Solid Waste Management Plan details the county's strategy for solid waste management, covering the period from 2005 through 2015. It focuses on ensuring adequate solid waste collection and disposal capacity, reducing the per capita rate of municipal solid waste disposal by 25 percent compared to FY 1992, identifying all solid waste handling facilities, and identifying unsuitable land areas for such facilities. The plan includes waste stream analysis, waste characterization, disposal projections, and strategies for waste reduction, collection, and disposal, as well as educational and public involvement initiatives.

The Pike County Board of Commissioners adopted economic incentives and authorized the use of taxable revenue bond financing by the Development Authority of Pike County. The economic incentives include an amortized tax relief program during a leasehold period of no more than 10 years. To qualify for the economic incentives, companies must establish a corporate presence in Pike County, have an investment commitment of \$2,500,000.00 or more, and employ a minimum of 25 persons. An exception is made for companies generating a minimum of \$1,000,000.00 in annual sales in Pike County, with reduced investment and employment criteria.

The resolutions primarily concern the implementation, funding, and management of the E-911 emergency telephone system.
