The Board meeting included reports on the superintendent's updates regarding budget constraints, accreditation progress, summer enrollment, and the Emeritus College Foundation endowment. Business items included a contract renewal with the Big Blue Bus for student transit services, appointments to the Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee, and the second reading and approval of Board policies concerning workplace violence, anti-bullying, and anti-nepotism. The Board also reviewed and approved numerous annual contracts and consultants across various departments, including academic affairs, construction and facilities, and fiscal services.

The Board of Trustees held a special meeting to conduct organizational functions and closed session personnel discussions. Key actions included the election of the Board Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, and Recording Secretary, as well as the appointment of Trustee liaisons. The Board authorized signature resolutions for key administrative personnel for the upcoming year and adopted the 2005 schedule of Board meetings. Additionally, an amendment was approved requiring the District to consult with the District Planning and Advisory Council regarding future efforts to expand student access.
