The committee meeting addressed an agency financial update and a CEO's report. Key business items included a capital plan update and several resolutions: authorizing an amendment to the Yardi Systems, Inc. agreement for quarterly billing and increased indebtedness for software services; seeking a demolition loan from the City of Jacksonville; and awarding the Franklin Arms demolition contract. Additionally, the committee reviewed the schedule for upcoming public hearings regarding admissions and occupancy policies, the housing choice voucher administrative plan, and long-term agency planning documents.
The 2026-2030 Consolidated Plan for Jacksonville-Duval County is a federally mandated five-year strategic roadmap for investing HUD block grant funds. It focuses on addressing housing and community development needs, primarily for low- to moderate-income households and special needs populations. Key strategic priorities include improving public facilities and infrastructure, preserving and developing affordable housing, providing public services for LMI and special needs populations, addressing homelessness, offering housing and services for persons with HIV/AIDS, and ensuring effective program management. The plan aims to achieve suitable living environments, decent affordable housing, and enhanced availability and accessibility of services within the jurisdiction.
